TOODLEBUNNY - Handmade Jewellery

About the artist
Growing up in a small town on Vancouver Island, designer Trudy Wynans always had an inherent fascination with how things were made. As a young child she could often be found in her fathers workshop, taking things apart to see how they worked. Although the subsequent recreating of the objects didn't always prove successful, these first experiences were the underlying beginnings of this self-taught designer. Following her creative passion, she enrolled in a Lost Wax Casting course and instantly felt she had found her true calling. “From the intricate carving of the wax to manipulating the metal into a finished piece, I enjoyed every aspect of this artistic process.” Courses in silversmithing and enamelling followed, as well as experimenting with non-metal mediums that were innovatively incorporated into her jewellery designs. The playful use of color and juxtaposition of unorthodox materials have become signatures of her bold statement pieces. Textures from varied mixed media such as vintage lace, fabric and leather combined with self-taught techniques make each piece a unique work of wearable art. Trudy officially launched her jewellery line TOODLEBUNNY Designs, in the spring of 2006. She works as a full-time artist from her studio 204-1000 Parker St in East Vancouver.
