Accessibility

At the Eastside Arts Society, we are committed to making the Eastside Culture Crawl as inclusive and accessible as possible. Our Festival programming is free of charge and designed to reduce barriers for community members to participate in the arts. Below you’ll find information about physical accessibility at our venues, as well as other initiatives that support broader access.

For more information or to discuss your specific access needs, please contact us at admin(at)eastsideartssociety(dot)ca or call 778-379-4545.

FESTIVAL WEEKEND

Studio Building Accessibility

Physical accessibility varies across our participating studio buildings. You can explore detailed access information on our website using the Explore Buildings/Map feature, where all wheelchair-accessible buildings are marked with a diamond symbol (◆). These are also listed in our printed program guide.

  • Service animals are welcome at all Culture Crawl events.
  • Transit and route accessibility varies by venue; we encourage visitors to use our building map for planning.
  • While we do not currently provide on-site volunteer assistance, we’re happy to support your visit in advance if you contact us.

Gender Inclusivity

Inclusivity is one of our core values. We encourage all participating studio buildings to implement gender-inclusive washroom policies and foster welcoming environments for people of all genders.

Sensory and Neurodivergent Accessibility

We recognize that accessibility includes more than physical space. While our current focus is on improving physical access, we are exploring ways to better support neurodivergent visitors and those with sensory needs, such as providing quiet zones or visual guides in future years.

If you have specific sensory-related needs or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact us — we welcome your feedback.

Language Access

We currently do not offer ASL interpretation, live captioning, or multilingual translation during Festival programming. We acknowledge the importance of language accessibility and are working toward expanding these supports in the future. Please reach out if you have communication needs, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
