The Eastside Culture Crawl Society offers affordable professional development workshops for artists throughout the year.  
$20 for Crawl artists and $25 for non-Crawl artists.

Artists' Toolkit from A to Z
Wednesday, April 17
7pm - 9:30pm

Many aspects of an artist’s career involve professional documentation and written materials, be they for proposals to galleries or grantors, sales, and presenting one’s work to the public online. This workshop will introduce best practices for the artist’s professional portfolio, including the artist resume, biography, statement, and artwork documentation. Participants will be guided through determining which approach is best suited to their needs, and will consider samples to leave better equipped to refine their own materials.

Pricing Artwork
Wednesday, April 24
7pm - 9:30pm

How is pricing best determined for an artwork? In which ways is a print priced differently from a painting? Which factors influence how much a collector might be willing to spend? This workshop will use group activities and case studies for participants to discuss pricing approaches for artists.

Photographing Your Artwork
Wednesday, May 8
7pm - 9:30pm

An in-depth, hands-on workshop of how to document your artwork, flat or 3 dimensional. whether using just your phone camera or using a DSLR, the principles are the same. Points covered will be: lighting, camera angle, camera lens, types of files (jpg, tiff), size of files, post-processing and portfolio images vs. social media images. Please bring the camera you will be using to document your work.

Marketing For Artists

Whether self-represented or working with a gallery, artists are increasingly expected to work towards generating buzz and followings for their work. This workshop will introduce various marketing tools and approaches including websites and social media strategies, while highlighting how to increase press coverage for their work.
