Themes of Niovi's past and present work have been the exploration of the natural world and our fragile relationship as humans; expressed through the mediums of painting, illustration and occasionally photography. Over the last year Niovi's work has shifted focus primarily to an ongoing project, the study and re-invigoration of Ancient Cypriot Art (1300-600BC).  The project aims to materialise this research and bring this ancient art in a modern context.  This art reflects a time of prosperity and rich cultural blossoming often overshadowed by well known civilisations of those times such as the Romans and Greeks. An underdog of the Western Ancient Civilisations, the Ancient Cypriot Art has a lot to offer, it has its own identity and visual language with many stories yet to be unveiled.
