My name is Candice Weber and I’m the artist behind Loudly Insecure- a fibre art studio operating out of Gore Studio in Chinatown. I am a multidisciplinary fibre artist and filmmaker. Although my academic training was primarily in animation and film; I discovered a passion through fine art courses, artist residencies, and volunteer work in maker spaces that grew to include jewelry design, laser cutting, CNC guided embroidery, as well as traditional crafts like weaving, beading, and hand embroidery. My distinct sensibilities as hybrid artist allows my artistic approach to bridge the space between digital and traditional craftwork. I am excited to now be able to offer workshops for some of the techniques I frequently work with such as goldwork embroidery, miniature/ hand weaving, tufting, and sculptural embroidery.
