Justina Kervel's artistic talents span across various mediums including drawing, painting, wood burning, clay, soapstone and tattooing. Her work has been featured in magazine publications, television and radio interviews, and she has earned accolades at international tattoo conventions. Justina specializes in Pop Surrealism tattoos and is recognized as an expert in multiple tattoo styles. Justina is co-owner of Liquid Amber Tattoo and Art Collective, a trailblazing queer-women-owned tattoo studio and art gallery in Vancouver, B.C since 2001. From its humble beginnings with Justina as the sole artist, Liquid Amber has blossomed into a thriving community. Over the past two decades, Justina has mentored 13 apprentices, and many talented tattooers have joined the ever-growing Liquid Amber family. Aside from the tattoo side of Liquid Amber, the studio is a gallery space for local artists to showcase their work in other mediums. Since 2017, Liquid Amber has hosted an event called Art Social, transforming the space into a dynamic art market and community hub, actively supporting and celebrating local visual artists. Justina’s work, deeply inspired by life’s myriad lessons, reflects a profound understanding of human emotion, the natural world, and the intricate world of personal experience. Her art is not just seen; it is felt, inviting viewers into a world where every hue and line tells a story of resilience, beauty, and the enduring power of the human spirit.
