Inspired by folklore, the supernatural, and environmental protection, Jess blends the familiar with the strange to create art that feels both eerie and surreal. As a child with an overactive imagination growing up in the wilderness of Northern BC, there was no shortage of strange(and sometimes spooky) inspiration for her to draw on. She has always been fascinated with our connection to story and the lessons we can learn from them. Jess favours simple tools like graphite and ballpoint pen but loves to experiment and mix media. A committed climate activist, Jess uses her art to remind us of our deep connection to the natural world and the importance of protecting it.
