George Pantazis is a sculptor, draftsman, designer, mixed media artist, and printmaker whose work reflects his autistic experience through a bold, maximalist visual language.
After studying metal fabrication at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, he spent several years in the stainless steel industry, fabricating mirrored stainless interior elements for companies including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Prada, and Tiffany & Co.. He later pivoted to carpentry and design as a production manager for a wooden playground manufacturer, designing and crafting yellow cedar play elements for young children across British Columbia and Alberta.
His multi-faceted skillset informs a practice that explores overstimulation, masking, anxiety, and burnout. Through complex, multi-material works combining wood, metal, textile, clay, and found objects, George mirrors the sensory landscape of autism. His pieces construct intricate worlds rooted in absurdism, inspired by the West Coast, and invite audiences to see through an autistic lens.
