Wood
Nick Yonge, owner of Duck Pond Studio, works in new media with wood and paper and ink and light. He/him. It's pronounced "young".
He's been most accurately described as "a cinnamon bun in a leather jacket".
He makes things that are interactive. Usually with buttons and switches and electronics that play with light and colour.
He makes things that are playful. With multiple layers of paper to create the illusion of depth, or dioramas that spin and tell different stories from every angle.
He makes things that give him an excuse to play with fun machines. Machines for precisely cutting intricate designs into wood. Machines to carve holes into fragile acrylic sheets. Lasers.
He makes lots of stickers. Stickers that are cute to go on your laptop. Stickers that are anticapitalist to go on streetsigns. Stickers that are queer to go on your forehead.
He really, really, really loves ducks.
He loves people, and he loves you.
