About the artistSherri's landscape paintings capture urban graffiti in its environment, capturing the beauty and color that artists have contributed to their surroundings. These landcapes bring up questions about ownership of public space and what is fair representation in the public sphere. Who decides what is graffiti and what is legitimate art? Can street art- ephemeral by nature, social media in the street- be legislated? Trained in fine art at the University of Alberta and in animation at Sheridan College in Ontario, she paints primarily in acrylic on wood. By day, she works as a digital artist in the visual effects and animation industry.
