About the artistDavid Crompton is a visual artist and visual designer based in Vancouver. Since graduating from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 1999, his work has been screened and exhibited internationally at galleries, festivals, and on media channels including SXSW (Austin); Transmediale (Berlin); the European Media Art Festival (Osnabrück) and CBC Radio 3 amongst others. David’s work is included in the collection of the Marshall McLuhan Salon at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin and his projects have been awarded grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council. David has published two collections of photographs, Where I’m From (2013) and Common (2014) the latter which was the catalyst for his first solo exhibition of photography. His second solo exhibition of photography, Strait Goods was part of the 2016 edition of Vancouver’s Capture Photography Festival. David is a long time resident of False Creek where he lives with his wife, artist Tristesse Seeliger, and his two children.
