Mixed Media, Painting, Printmaking
About the artist***UPDATE: I am sorry to miss participating this year! I just moved out of my studio and into the Malaspina Howe Street location for a two year Printermedia Residency Program intended to explore the intersection of print media with other media. After being in Parker Street since 2012, my storage is short! Please get in touch if you are interested in any pieces.*** Meredith Aitken lives in Vancouver BC and work in oils, acrylics and mixed media, combining painting, collage and printmaking techniques. Recent exhibits include Phases of Matter, Matters of Place at the Richmond Cultural Centre; MIXX at the Emily Carr Concourse Gallery; Breaking Ground at the Britannia Mining Museum; Concinnity at the Britannia Art Gallery; Discovery: Air at the Seymour Art Gallery; and Water Works at the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Her work was juried into recent Gala Exhibitions at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. Her prints were selected for the new Stanford Hospital opening next month in Palo Alto, California. In January 2014, Meredith received the Carole Badgley Emerging Artist Award from the Seymour Art Gallery, BC.
