Katherine Wilson is an abstract surreal visual artist working in oil paint, pastels, and graphite.  She has been drawing and painting for over twenty years, and in the last four years she has begun working with metal and stones to make one-of-a kind jewellery pieces. Katherine is driven by both the pursuit of beauty and an innate curiosity for the world around her.  Natural cycles, decay, sensuality, movement, and the macabre are recurring themes that consistently appear in her work.  Making art is the primary path to knowing herself.  The art-making process allows her to express that which she cannot with words—the tensions, shadows, and light she feels within herself, the beauty of a particular curve, and the profound miracles that can be witnessed in Nature. In her visual art, Katherine explores both abstract surrealism and pop surrealist illustration.  In her jewellery design, Katherine employs a variety of metalsmithing techniques to create both organic and geometric wearable art.
