About the artist
My background in science with degrees in Biology and Physiotherapy may seem an unlikely starting point, but all roads nevertheless led me to the Studio Art Program at Capilano University, which I completed in 2005. I currently work in ceramics (coil built organic forms which are smokefired) and Abstract painting (in oil, pigment, plaster and encaustic). I am inspired by the natural world that surrounds me, especially while hiking in the north shore mountains or sitting staring out at the ocean. My ceramics works have been shown in many venues in the Vancouver area, including the studio of BC Ceramics, and Crafthouse on Granville Island and The Silk Purse Gallery and Feast in the Village on the north shore, among others. Paintings have been sold mainly through an annual home show and sale in North Vancouver, and can be found in local collections as well as collections in Montreal, Ottawa, Japan and Australia. Current exhibitions : Blueshore Financial, Park Royal and Squamish locations through to mid December and West Vancouver Memorial Library to October 19th. Upcoming exhibitions: March 6, 2019 District Foyer Gallery and City Hall North Vancouver Sept. 17, 2019 Ferry Building Gallery
