About the artistRaised in Calgary Alberta and currently based in Vancouver, Canadian artist Tiko Kerr has earned high-profile recognition which has spanned three decades, for his artfully liberated visual explorations of landscape and figuration. His latest body of work explores the politics of identity as we find ourselves in an almost surreal landscape where perceptions of one another can tend to be generalized in swift, inaccurate strokes. Kerr has been widely recognized for long list of solo and group shows, his extensive community activism, and for his many prominent creative collaborations. Kerr has co-created with Ballet British Columbia in performance, designed sets for the acclaimed Wonder Boy, Canada’s first original full length ballet, and recently was the featured biographical subject of the Emmy-nominated documentary Cue The Muse. Kerr’s has been the feature of many published articles and his work can be found in many respected private and corporate collections.
