Levy, Shevy

About the artist
An Israeli native, Shevy Levy began her art career in 1975, while attending university for her mathematics degree. Shevy met and studied with master artists around the world. Her art abstract work employs a large variety of media including oil, acrylic, and pastel and is inspired by artists such as Franz Kline, De Kooning, and Joan Mitchell. In 1993 Shevy immigrated to Canada where she very quickly associated with the Vancouver art community. She studied at Emily Carr College, and has continued to collaborate with a group of fellow artists who have inspired her steady growth. Shevy’s work has been presented by Buckland Southerst Gallery in West Vancouver.

I believe in simplicity. I paint subjects that hold my interest. I strive to employ a pallet and brushwork to create line, motion and mood that impart my vision.
