Landry, Marion

About the artist
For Landry, painting is an exploration with perception as a contrast to reality. In her life she has consciously moved and traveled to many places in order to experience different perspectives. Landry views her art practice in a similar way where the process becomes a new experience, a new perspective. Landry constructs paintings using the grid as a foundation pattern. The thin layers of loosely painted colours appear woven across the surface, shifting from flat to a three dimensional illusion. The idea that the visual perception can differs from the objective reality is something Landry is captivated by and continues to explore in her work.
