Drawing, Painting, Sculpture
About the artistSiobhan Humston is an interdisciplinary artist with a full-time practice in drawing/painting, photography, fiber arts, and sculptural installation. By combining abstracted aspects of nature with man-made elements she creates narratives that intersect at environmental concern and ecological awe. Over the past four and a half years Siobhan has worked in over a dozen studios in three countries including artist residencies in New York, British Columbia and in Cornwall, UK. She has recently returned to Vancouver to continue making art, to give workshops based on her newly developed methodology 'Day-to-Day Aesthetics', take outdoor excursions and to plan her next adventure. In her career, she has shown her work in over sixty gallery exhibitions, received a Pollock Krasner Fellowship and a BC Arts Council grant and was most recently awarded an MFA degree with distinction from Falmouth University, UK.
I strive to share a respect for our astonishing environment and to consider what is at risk, extending beyond the gallery space and into the world of dilemmas and delights.
