Fazilat, Farzaneh

About the artist
Farzaneh Fazilat is a textile artist, painter and jewelry maker. Passionate about art since childhood, she always loved playing with fabric, and making her own clothes. She feels a strong connection with textile and design. Her work is often inspired by traditional Persian motifs and bold colours. She expresses her gaze on society through an abstract and free spirited artistic message. She is devoted to exploring all the facets of art, studying new techniques and working with new mediums each year. Her work has been the subject of several exhibitions in her native town Tehran. Farzenh prefers working with natural fibers such as fine merino wool, alpaca and silk. Her design process always starts with raw material, she hand dyes all of her fabrics using natural dyes. She manipulates the fabrics into desired shapes, and texture. Her wearable designs are embellished with hand embroidery, paint, handmade screen prints, and handmade jewelry. Fazaneh taught felt making to textile students at a University in Tehran, and offers workshops at the Makerslab. For inquiries, please email
