About the artistConnie Sabo was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. She graduated from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 2003 where she received the Governor General’s Silver Medal for Excellence. She also holds a BHE from the University of British Columbia and studied architecture at UBC and public art at the University of Washington. Her sculpture and mixed media installations are often site-specific exploring issues of cycles and sustainability as well as personal intimate relationships with the environment and the urban landscape. Connie has a passion for community engagement and has been the resident artist for several community based art projects In Vancouver, Burnaby, and New York. She is the vice-chair of the Eastside Culture Crawl and co-founder of AgentC Projects, a Metro Vancouver based curatorial collective.
