Wauthy, Anne-Francoise

About the artist
Belgian born artist, Anne-Francoise Wauthy, alternates her artistic practice between abstract painting and repurposing domestic trash. She has worked with plastic bags, with zippers, with copper but in the last 10 years, she has been collecting, cleaning and cutting Nespresso (coffee capsules) in order to use it as "paint" Her work is bright and whimsical yet points to the complex issues of consumer waste and our environmental footprint. AF (as she prefers to be called) hold a BFA in Studio Arts with a major in Fibres from Concordia University in Montreal. She has exhibited her work internationally in Cuba, Montreal, Paris, Vancouver and Waterloo. Her work has also been published in FiberArts magazine.
